Slate’s Mistakes for the Week of Feb. 2

In a Feb. 7 Books, Laura Miller suggested that when the title character in the Dungeon Crawler Carl books chooses a race, he sticks with human. Technically, he chooses to become a Primal, a race that allows him to continue appearing human.

In a Feb. 4 Jurisprudence, Mary Ziegler misstated Randall Terry’s age. He is 66, not 77.

In a Feb. 3 War Stories, Fred Kaplan misstated when Barack Obama left office. It was 2017, not 2021.

In a Feb. 3 Industry, Alex Kirshner misstated that investors own 80 cents’ worth of Bitcoin for every dollar of Strategy stock. Investors actually pay about $5 for the same amount of Bitcoin.

Due to an editing error in a Jan. 31 Drink, the article misstated that former Sen. Harry Reid was addressing President Bill Clinton during his speech against the Board of Tea Experts. In fact, he was addressing the president of the Senate at that time.
